Targets 6 key root causes
of stress and anxious feelings

Our unique and groundbreaking formula addresses the internal biological causes of poor mood and provides the nutritional foundation to support emotional health.

In the body:

Raw external stress generally increases as we age at the same time as our ability to cope with stress declines.

In the mind:
Increase in stress and cortisol weighs on the mind.

Stress from caring for children or aging parents while balancing a job and dealing with financial worries can easily overwhelm.

In the body:

As we age, cortisol receptors responsible for regulating the stress response in the body decline in efficiency

In the mind:
Increase in stress and cortisol weighs on the mind.

As a result, the body has a harder time responding to stress overall, causing more persistent anxious feelings.

In the body:

Sleep is the essential process for maintaining the prefrontal cortex and the amygdala as well as a healthy metabolism and hormones.

In the mind:

Emotional regulation and stress management is impaired.

In the body:

Natural declines in estrogen and progesterone disrupt the production of serotonin and dopamine. For men, declines in testosterone has the same effect.

In the mind:

Without the steady supply of natural serotonin and dopamine it is hard to for your mind to feel the sense of happiness and well-being.

In the body:

The foods that we eat are typically grown in depleted soil and further processed prior to consumption.

In the mind:

These macronutrients, especially magnesium and vitamin b6, are the essential cofactors involved in the production of neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine.

In the body:

Long period between meals followed by high sugar and carbohydrate based diets cause severe fluctuations in blood sugar throughout the day.

In the mind:

Poor glucose regulation leads to fatigue, irritability and depressed symptoms.

The problem is
an out-of-balance nervous system that keeps us stressed out, tense and anxious.

5 well-studied ingredients that nourish and protect your emotional health.

GreenWave's Organic®
Ashwagandha Extract

What is it?

A well-studied herb that has been used in traditional Ayurvedic medicine for thousands of years to help people combat stress and stress-related symptoms like anxious-feelings, mental fatigue and feelings of sadness.

What sets AshwaMag apart?

We use a proprietary organic Ashwagandha, considered the top-rated form for mood and stress support. Super concentrated with twice the amount of active withanolides than other brands, 10% vs. 5% concentration.

We use a "standardized process" that yields the same amount of active withanolides from serving to serving.

The Research

Clinical support that it works. AshwaMag’s ashwagndha is supported by 10 independent clinical trials, including specific mood improvement and stress-reduction clinical trials.

Magnesium
Glycinate

What is it?

Known as “nature’s chill pill”, Our magnesium glycinate is highly absorbable and is chelated so it’s very gentle on the stomach. This form of magnesium is considered best for supporting healthy magnesium levels throughout the body, including the brain.

What sets AshwaMag apart?

Magnesium types perform various functions in the body, it's easy to choose the wrong magnesium. AshwaMag uses two top, premium, well-studied magnesium types specifically chosen for their unique nervous system support properties.

The Research

Helps with negative by-products of an over-active sympathetic nervous system by blocking neurotransmitters that promote stressed out feelings, while at the same time binding to calming feel-good neurotransmitters, like Serotonin and GABA.

Aquamin®
Magnesium

What is it?

Premium natural sea-water magnesium comes directly from the cold, pristine waters off the coast of Ireland, directly from a source naturally rich in magnesium.

What sets AshwaMag apart?

A unique natural source of natural magnesium that works so well because it’s so highly absorbable. The body and nervous system just soak it up. Leaving you feeling calm and relaxed...like you just had an ocean swim!

The Research

Absorbable sources of magnesium are one of the most effective nutrients for supporting healthy levels of the stress hormone “cortisol”, acting as a brake on an over-active sympathetic nervous system. Magnesium also helps regulate key feel-good neurotransmitters in the brain and body, and even helps support better sleep.

AlphaWave®
L-Theanine

What is it?

An amino acid derived from green tea that’s been shown to help with symptoms of stress. It has been used for centuries to help people relax.

What sets AshwaMag apart?

L-Theanine works by supporting alpha waves in the brain which provide a “relaxed alertness” when you’re awake, described as a “peaceful, yet very productive” state of mind.

The Research

With multiple mechanisms of action, nutritionists refer to L-theanine as the “adaptogen of neurotransmitters”. It is rapidly absorbed and fast acting in the brain to help support levels of GABA, a calming neurotransmitter, and dopamine, a pleasure neurotransmitter, among other neurotransmitters.

Vitamin B6 from
Pyridoxal-5 Phosphate

What is it?

Vitamin B6 is needed for the body to create “feel-good neurotransmitters”.

What sets AshwaMag apart?

This natural form of Vitamin B6 increases the efficacy of magnesium supplementation, making it another key synergistic nervous system support ingredient in AshwaMag, completing the formula.

The Research

Studies have shown that sad and down feelings can also be a result of low blood levels of Vitamin B6. Teenager and adults alike, who struggle with mood challenges, are often found to be deficient in Vitamin B6.

Parasympathetic Nervous System?
How can I activate mine to counter stress?

Your nervous system plays a big role in your mind and body’s response to stress. A balanced, well supported nervous system can have a tremendous impact on your mood, emotions, well-being and happiness. Give it the nutritional support it needs, through diet and with AshwaMag, plus some TLC which can include some of the techniques and tips laid out in GreenWave’s Therapist’s Guide, and you can really begin to turn things around in your life.

The involuntary part of the nervous system (known as your Autonomic Nervous System) that is the focus when it comes to mood and emotions. It controls and regulates things beyond your conscious control... such as your heartbeat, breathing, temperature regulation, digestion and much of your moods and emotions. This nervous system runs down from the brain down the spinal cord throughout your organs and body. It has two sides:

  • Sympathetic Nervous System (SNS) also known as the ‘fight or flight’ anxious side, is more stimulatory keeping the body on high alert.
  • Parasympathetic Nervous System (PNS) also known as the “rest and digest” relaxing side, which is more soothing and calming, controls rest including sleep.

Unfortunately, too many of us live in an a sympathetic-dominant (SNS) state the majority of the time. And sympathetic dominance is directly correlated with low moods, sadness, impaired sleep quality, reduced self-esteem and many other potential health issues.

The solution is to better activate your parasympathetic nervous system (PNS) and get your system back in balance. This is where AshwaMag can help, providing key nutritional support for your PNS by supporting healthy levels of stress hormones like cortisol (helping to curb excessive cortisol release) while also supporting healthy levels of the key feel-good neurotransmitters in the brain that get depleted from stress.

What’s in Cortisol?

When you’re stressed-out and feeling tense and anxious it sure doesn’t feel good. Have you ever wondered what’s going on in your body to make you feel that way?

These feelings are the work of something called your sympathetic nervous system. The "fight or flight" side of your nervous system that takes over when you’re stressed. When you come under stress, your body pumps out a rush of stress hormones – three hormones in particular that cause you to feel the way you do.

The first two stress hormones rush in immediately. They are epinephrine (more commonly known as adrenaline) and norepinephrine. Their affects tend to be more immediate but it’s the third stress hormone, called cortisol, that begins to kick in minutes later, that can stick around when you stew on a problem, or the sources of your stress (real or perceived) and continue to be present.

It’s the cortisol that your body is pumping out that depletes key feel-good neurotransmitters that you need to feel calm, relaxed and content.

What are Feel-Good Neurotransmitters?

Neurotransmitters are chemical messengers that carry messages between neurons and other cells in your brain and body. But most importantly, when it comes to mood, they affect how you feel and your emotions. They influence your mood and involuntary nervous system reactions throughout your brain and body. So, when your mood neurotransmitters are out of balance, you’re out of balance.

The three primary feel-good neurotransmitters that get depleted by cortisol are:

  • Serotonin for a mood, well-being and happiness
  • GABA for feeling calm and relaxed, countering anxious-feelings and is also critical for sleep
  • Dopamine for pleasure, motivation and focus

This is where, nutritionally, AshawaMag can help. AshwaMag helps to restore balance, supporting normal healthy levels of cortisol and the feel-good neurotransmitters in the body and brain.
